Make Come Follow Me Exciting Again

I don’t know about you, but our Come Follow Me this year has been pretty awesome!

Last year, I felt like it was getting a bit dull, and I knew it was time to shake things up.

So, during the Christmas season, I pondered how to approach our nightly Come Follow Me study as a family.

And let me tell you, I had an epiphany while I was out running and reading the introduction to the Doctrine and Covenants!

The introduction lays out exactly what the Doctrine and Covenants will teach us, and that’s what we’re diving into this year as a family.

Here’s the fun part: every night, we gather around the table and read a number of verses equal to the number of people present.

Some nights, it’s a full house; other nights, it’s just a couple of us.

Each person reads one verse, and then we get creative! sticky notes and scriptures we take those cute little sticky notes and jot down insights from the verses we read.

Sometimes we don’t find anything profound, but other times, we’re bursting with ideas! We stick those notes right in our scriptures, and throughout the year, we’ll be able to flip back through and see all the ways Heavenly Father has fulfilled His promises through the Doctrine and Covenants.

I’m really hoping this will not only strengthen my family’s testimony but also deepen my own understanding of the truthfulness of the Doctrine and Covenants and Joseph Smith as our prophet. It’s a fun and interactive way to study, and it keeps everyone engaged!
